Drawing upon her past experience as a teacher and school counselor, Deborah Hrdlicka’s practice has focused primarily on children, and adolescents, from preschool to fourteen. Deb's creative use of play allows her to reach children who have difficulty communicating their feelings or problems. She uses an interpersonal orientation that incorporates cognitive behavioral strategies along with art and play therapy. Deb’s background helps her to be especially effective with school based difficulties, including interpersonal and behavior problems. She also provides support for kids coping with major transitions or losses, including bereavement, serious illness, divorce or blended families. In addition, she offers treatment for childhood depression, anxiety, anger management, attention deficit disorder, and children who can benefit from social skills training. Deb provides consultation to families, schools, and social service agencies. Deb earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School in 1989. She joined the MAPS clinical staff in July 2008. You can contact Deborah at MAPS by telephone at (603) 355-2244, ext. 307, by mail at MAPS' Keene or Peterborough offices, or by email at dhrdlicka@MAPSnh.org. |
