To Make an Appointment

Anyone may call MAPS to make an appointment for counseling or psychotherapy.

Usually the best way to do so is to call 603-355-2244 (in Keene) or 603-924-2240 (in Peterborough), and press “0,” which will connect you with our Office Manager. (If no one is immediately available, you may leave your name and telephone number on our voice mail. We will call you back as soon as we can.)

The Office Manager will answer your questions about MAPS and collect some initial information from you (address, phone number, insurance data, etc.). In order to match you with a clinician trained & experienced to work on the issues you are facing, we also ask you to state briefly what prompted you to seek counseling at this time. A short time later, that clinician will contact you to set a mutually agreeable time for an appointment.

If it is more convenient to contact us initially via email, you can do so at office@mapsnh.org. You may also email or phone individual MAPS therapists to ask specific questions about their work. Our staff list and links to individual clinicians’ pages can by found by clicking here. (Please be aware that email can easily compromise your privacy, because it can be read by others along its route of transit. You should probably not send information via email that you would not also be willing to send on a post card.)

Therapists on our staff have a variety of backgrounds and special educational training. We believe that therapy will be most effective if you can have a good feeling of rapport with the therapist you work with. We do everything we can to allow this to happen.
