Larry McFarland has spent more than two decades in clinical practice.
Along the way he has accumulated a broad range of clinical experience
and a profound respect for the combined struggles and buoyancies that
clients bring with them to therapy.
Larry works
principally with adults, youth, children (over 8 years old), and families. He has specialized
experience in cognitive therapy for depression and anxiety (including
bereavement), in anger and aggression control, sexuality issues, and in individual and family
treatment of substance abuse (or other compulsive behaviors), ADHD or Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
In the Monadnock area, Larry previously worked as a regional director
for Familystrength, as a clinician at Monadnock Family Services, and as
clinical director at Youth Services in Brattleboro.
A native Tennessean, Larry graduated from college with a double major in
religion and music. In 1987 the University of Maryland awarded him a
master’s degree in Community Counseling, and he earned a post-master's
certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy from Virginia Tech in 1994. He
has supervised master's-student interns from Antioch University since
1995.
